What's a memecoin?

A memecoin is a cryptocurrency token whose value comes from attention, not from a product or revenue. Most are launched as jokes, references, or community in-jokes — and most go to zero. A few mint generational wealth. The asymmetry is the point.

Why Solana?

Solana memecoins took over in 2024 because the chain is fast and cheap enough to actually trade them. A token launch on Solana costs cents and confirms in seconds. The standard launchpad is pump.fun — anyone can mint a token in 90 seconds, and the bonding curve handles initial liquidity.

The lifecycle

1. Launch

Someone mints a token, posts the address. First buyers seed the bonding curve.

2. Bonding

Price climbs along a curve as buyers add. When market cap hits ~$69k it "graduates" to Raydium and trades like a normal token.

3. Discovery

If it picks up a narrative — funny meme, KOL endorsement, on-chain whale — buyers pile in. Market cap can 10x in hours.

4. Distribution

The chart eventually fades. Early holders sell into the late buyers. Most tokens end here.

How ApeLeague fits

Memecoin trading is fun and brutal. ApeLeague lets you play the picking game without the losing money part. Pick five tokens before each round locks. We track real DexScreener prices. You get a portfolio score. Top 3 split a SOL pool when one is sponsored.

You don't buy tokens. No wallet needed to play. No real trading happens on your behalf. The clout is real, the dollar risk is zero.
